HILLCREST BAY RESTORATION |

HOKE COUNTY, NC
A 65-acre site is in Hoke County, North Carolina near the town of Raeford. The site has been historically used for cotton farming was restored to a functioning area of the Carolina Bay ecosystem. The restored bay area is approximately 27 to 31 acres, with sand rim and upland buffer areas. The project produced non-riverine wetland credits for the North Carolina Ecosystem Enhancement Program. Construction was completed in 2006 and is in monitoring stages.
